So tomorrow I am scheduled to go to an oral surgeon and have all four of my wisdom teeth extracted. I’m going under during the procedure, but I’m quite certain the surgery itself is only one of the nasty parts of wisdom teeth extraction. The next few days will certainly be…different from my usual routine. Although not too different, considering most of what I do will involve sleeping and eating, television and reading, as per usual. Only I will have a new companion whose name rhymes with Gain, and Rain, and Airplane.
I am considering this a turning point in my summer, and life as a whole, now that the final days of life as I know it are coming to a close. I will relish each moment spent home, in pain or not, because god knows how much I’ll be wishing for the brief respite of a quiet house in a few months. I’m hoping that these next few days will provide me with some nice perspective, and maybe even a newfound drive to pursue something that I recently unearthed. But more on that at another time.
So, in 8 hours, I’ll be getting put under to commence a (hopefully) quick and easy procedure. Wish me luck. :-)
